Sherman Zimmerman

DeForest

Sherman R. Zimmerman, age 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep December 27, 2025.

Sherman was born in Warren, MN on September 12, 1935, as one of three children of Anton and Loretta (née Kile) Zimmerman. Anton moved the family to Madison in the early 1940s to work at Oscar Mayer. Sherman graduated from Madison East High School in 1953. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1958. He met the love of his life, Ann M. LaRonge, soon after returning to the States from Germany. They married October 30, 1959. They raised two children together - Paul and Heidi. Sherman worked as an Autobody Master Technician for 59 years, first for Schappe Pontiac and then Don Miller Incorporated. He proudly maintained his home on the eastside of Madison for 60 years. He loved his wife and family unconditionally. He was a wonderful role-model, caring, compassionate and patient. He was incredibly handy - fixing cars and doing repairs around the house. He was our rock and will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Loretta; his brother, Morris; his wife Ann. He leaves behind his brother Dennis (Joyce); children: Paul (Joanne); Heidi (Bob) Rosemeyer; grandchildren: Cole (Andrea) Rosemeyer, Kelsey (Jackson) Gabriel, Halie (Justin) Haase; Ryan (Ashley) Zimmerman; great grandchildren: Cash, Mia Rosemeyer; Leo, Harper Gabriel; Della, Violet Haase; Hudson Zimmerman; two nephews and a niece.

A special thank you to the staff of "The Legacy of DeForest" and Agrace.

Sherman requested that no services would be held.
