Sheila Marie (Boucher) Sullivan, 61, died August 18, 2026, after a 64-month battle with ovarian cancer.

Sheila was born in Green Bay on March 19, 1965, to Shirley Mae (Lealou) and David Boucher. She grew up in Allouez, attending St. Matthew’s and St. Joseph’s Academy (and holding a lifelong grudge about the multipurpose center). She earned a B.A. in linguistics from Georgetown University and an unfortunately-timed M.A. in Soviet and East European studies from George Washington University. She worked as an analyst for the National Security Agency and spoke French, Polish, and Russian.

Back in Wisconsin, Sheila earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School while raising two toddlers. She became a partner at Bell, Moore, and Richter, argued cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, edited the state’s definitive guide to insurance law, and made people who disagreed with her feel unreasonable.

She met Frank at Georgetown. They married at St. Matthew’s in 1987, one month after graduation. Together they traveled to Mongolia to adopt two children, raised all four children to adulthood (we all know who did most of the work), traveled widely and ridiculously, and opened their homes and her Lambeau seats to friends and family

Sheila loved her people, her animals, her lake, her books and puzzles, her Packers, chocolate, Jane Austen, and the open road. These things are not necessarily in order. She became a Packers season ticket holder in 2024. After her diagnosis, she and Frank continued to travel, visiting Yellowstone, the Pacific northwest, Texas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Alaska, and Hawaii, where she completed her 50-state list in 2025. She attended Caleb’s wedding and her children’s graduations from high school and college and watched countless North Two Lakes sunsets. She was proud that she never saw a sunrise.

Sheila is survived by Frank; her children Caleb (Jared Jones), Nathan, Michael, and Miranda; her mother Shirley; her siblings Kathleen, Todd (Melissa), and Paul; her in-laws Patrick (Kristie), Tom, Daniel, Andrew (Dena), and Meghan; her nieces Danielle and Miriam; her nephews Dominique, Christopher, David, Joseph, and Elliott; the plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins, and assorted relatives who come with growing up in a Green Bay Catholic family; and Roxanne, whose status needs no explanation.

She was preceded in death by her father, David, and her grandparents Muriel (Meunier) and Gilbert Lealou, and Agnes (Lemens) and Joseph Boucher.

We thank all who accompanied Sheila through a contented and joyful life – family, friends, professional colleagues, and general hangers-on. We are grateful to the medical teams at the Carbone Cancer Center (especially Lisa, Jake, and Marsha) and Agrace, who extended her life, made her comfortable, and, when the time came, helped her leave it with peace and dignity.

Friends and family will gather from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Cress Funeral Home STOUGHTON, 206 W. Prospect, Stoughton, WI 53589. Visitation will continue from 10-11:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N Van Buren St, Stoughton, WI 53589, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM.
