Scott B Reed

March 28, 1961 — December 18, 2025

Marshall

Scott Brian Reed, 64, of Marshall passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born on March 28, 1961 in Illinois to Robert L. and Sandy (Richards) Reed. The family made many moves, with the first being to San Diego, when Scott was five. After a brief stay in Kansas City he then moved to, where the entire family would always consider their real home, Wisconsin by age 8. At age 15, they moved to Kentucky for a short stint before Scott graduated high school in Riverton, Illinois. After high school, he went with the family to California where he then enlisted and started his military career. Scott was in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1989 and was stationed at Cannon Air Force base in Clovis, New Mexico and at RAF Lakenheith in Lakenheith, England. He was a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Technician, working on F1-11 fighter jets. While stationed in New Mexico, Scott met the love of his life, Caridad Saldana. Their first date was October of 1983, Scott proposed in December of 1983 and married his beautiful wife on March 18, 1984. The two were happily married for 42 years. After the Military, Scott joined the Federal postal service which lead him and his family to Marshall, WI where he continued to work in the Madison WI Post office for 33 years leading up to his retirement.

He enjoyed anything outdoors including sports, hunting, and coaching sports. He was always finding something to fix or learn about. Most of all, he was selfless. Scott was always willing to be a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, an open set of arms for a hug, or some much needed barstool wisdom. Foremost, he loved anything to do with spending time with his grandkids.

Scott is survived by his wife, Caridad Reed; sons, Robert Reed, Zach (Alyssa) Reed; sister, Stacy (Mike) Seibert; grandchildren, Cooper Scott and Charlie Mae; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sandy Reed; and brother, Brent Reed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Scott’s name to the Marshall Lions Club,

PO Box 655, Marshall WI, 53559.
