Sandra Jean Howard, nee Dalby, 67, of Marshall, Wisc., passed away March 1, 2024, surrounded by her children.  She was born October 11, 1956, in Chicago, Ill., to Chris and Betty Dalby.

Sandra spent most of her early years living in Oregon, growing up in Klamath Falls and eventually graduating from Western Oregon University at Monmouth with a degree in Criminal Justice. After college, she followed her older brother to Fairbanks, Alaska, where she worked as a Correctional Officer before starting her career in social work. While in Alaska, she enjoyed raising her three kids, and working for LifeQuest as a well-respected social worker, helping kids throughout South Central Alaska find their way. She believed in the best in anyone, and always wanted to help others succeed. Aside from her career, she enjoyed attending all of her children’s sporting events, making sure to don the appropriate titles for each of their respective favorites: “Soccer Mom,” “Basketball Mom,” and “Baseball Mom.”  She never missed a game.

When the family moved to Wisconsin, Sandy worked with Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin where she continued with social work until switching into insurance claims and adjusting. Once her kids grew up, grandkids started to appear and this is where Sandy really found her purest joy. Her greatest love in this world was being a Grandma to her 4 granddaughters.

Sandy is survived by her son Benjamin Howard (Missy) of Marshall, Wisc., daughter Sarah Coyne (David) of Girdwood, Alaska, son Stephen Howard of Verona, Wisc., brother Ronald Dalby (Jennifer) of Gig Harbor, Wash., and brother Robert Dalby of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and additional cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughters Haley Jo, Josephine Margaret, Brookelynne Jean, and Hazel Rae.
