Sandor C. Haydu, the son of Sandor and Elizabeth Haydu, was born on March 21, 1935, in Plainfield, New Jersey and passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. He attended school in Maplewood, New Jersey, and graduated in 1957 from Clarkson College (University) in Potsdam, New York.
Sandy married Sally-Joyce W. McColley on March 2, 1963. Their children are Sandor A. Haydu and Catherine J. Sangis.
During his youth he worked for Haydu Meats in Newark, New Jersey, delivering to restaurants along the boardwalk on the Jersey Shore. He later joined Wood Industries of Plainfield, New Jersey, where he was in charge of sales and service for 20 years.
While residing in Madison, Sandy was in charge of opening and running the Cinnabon Stores in both East Towne and West Towne Malls. For the past 8 years he was the Barista at Cosi in Greenway Station, where he was affectionately known by the staff and customers as "Grandpa Cosi."
There will be a private memorial gathering. Donations in his memory may be made to Angel's Wish at angelswish.org.
