Sally M. Sawyer, age 85, passed away peacefully, two days after her 85th birthday, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. She was born on June 10, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter to Spurgeon and Lelah ( Moon) Miles. Sally was united in marriage to James H. Sawyer on June 10, 1986, in Glenview, Illinois. They were together for twenty-three years until Jim's passing in 2009. After Jim's passing, Sally moved to Capitol Lakes Retirement Community and then later to New Perspectives in Sun Prairie.

Sally grew up in Chicago and attended William Woods College then later transferred to the University of Missouri, where she obtained her B.A. in education and taught elementary education for several years. After her elementary education career, she decided to obtain her real estate license in Illinois and become a realtor. She worked on several different real estate projects that brought her great success. In her spare time, she explored modeling and was part of a national campaign for "Toastmaster" print advertisements. Sally will always be known as a beautiful person, inside and out. She could light up the room when she entered and loved social events, where she could meet and mingle with people. She also loved attending the Madison Symphony Orchestra.

Sally is survived by her son; Scott Walker; step- children Lezlie, James, and Chris; step- grandchildren Danielle, Jeremy, Allison, Mallory and Jamie.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

A graveside service will be held at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens, 1147 Clarmar Drive, Sun Prairie on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

Memorials would be appreciated to the First United Methodist Food Pantry.
