Stoughton- Sally Hopen, age 71, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Four Winds Manor in Verona, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on July 26, 1940 and lived most of her earlier life in Madison. She married Maurice Hopen and moved to his farm outside of Stoughton in 1970. She helped him farm until his untimely death in 1973. She and her infant daughter Linda then moved into Stoughton. Sally worked at Oregon Manor Nursing Home and American Family Insurance. Sally was an active member of First Lutheran Church, a member of Circle 3 and the choir for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by husband Maurice and parents, John and Ruth (Dudley) White. She is survived by daughter Linda, sister Joan, brother and sister in law Herbert and JoAnne and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington St., Stoughton. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. The family will greet friends at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and again at church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to First Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
