Sally Hinz

Stoughton- Sally Ann Wakefield Hinz blessed this earth with her presence on May 24, 1955. She was the fourth child born to Gale and Marilyn (Borre) Wakefield. When Sally was a young girl her dad adoringly called her "dynamite" due to her zest for life and her spunky personality. Sally graduated from Edgerton Senior High School in June of 1973. She didn't attend college right away, but did go back later to get the skills she needed to become an executive secretary at Swedish American Hospital and then Fort Health Care in January of 1989. On April 10, 1974 Sally gave birth to her only child, Amy. She loved being a mom from day one. Sally was a wonderful loving mother always. She met her best friend and soulmate when Amy was a Junior in high school, David Hinz. In May of 1996 Sally and Dave moved into their dream house they had built. On October 21, 1996 Sally saw the birth of her first grandchild, Ciara. She then welcomed her second grandchild, Jakob, on June 3, 2002. Sally loved being a grandma, and she was an awesome one. On July 13, 2002, Sally and Dave had a nice wedding at Angell Park surrounded by family and friends. Sally saw her daughter marry her best friend Jason Van Horn on April 24, 2004. She was happy to officially welcome her son-in-law into the family. Sally enjoyed planting flowers, making her house a home for everyone who visited; cooking; taking walks down to the pond; road trips with Dave, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Sally was taken away too soon from this earth on the early morning of January 14, 2017 after losing her courageous battle with cancer. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents; father-in-law, Thomas Hinz; aunts, uncles and cousins. The friends and family Sally left behind will continue to celebrate her life and keep her memories close. She is missed for her big heart and spunkiness. A celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Friends may greet the family from 10:30 AM until the time of services Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Sally's name at Old National Bank. Please share your memories of Sally.
