Ruth Severson

Sun Prairie - Ruth N. Severson was called home to her Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2012.

Ruth was born in Muscoda, Wisconsin on December 6, 1918 to John and Cora Hernan.
She married Malcolm Severson in 1954, where they lived in Milwaukee for the first 25 years of their marriage.

Ruth worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles in Milwaukee and later was a volunteer at the Red Barn in Sun Prairie.

They made Parkside Assisted Living in DeForest their home for the past few years. They enjoyed the ladies that cared for them and the food.

Ruth graduated from Richland Center High School. She loved to cook, golf and visit with family. Ruth was a tiny little lady with a big heart. She was also a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.

Ruth is survived by a sister, Dorothy Tadder; a brother, Edward (Kae) Hernan; three sisters-in-law, Edith Hernan, Lorrain Hernan and Camilla Hernan and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Malcolm "Bud" Severson in 2011, her brothers, Buford, Robert, Vilas, John and Michael Hernan; a sister, Marianna (Walter) Monahan and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Tadder.

The family would like to thank HospiceCare and Parkside for the wonderful care that Ruth received. You are special people and Bud and Ruth respected your kindness.

Memorial services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Inurnment of Ruth and Bud will take place at a later date at Sun Prairie Memorial Gardens.

Memorials donations can be directed in Ruth's name to HospiceCare or Parkside Assisted Living in DeForest.
