MADISON- Ruth S. Keel passed away on December 16, 2014. She was born in Alpha, Minnesota on August 19, 1923, the daughter of Jacob and Tena Snyder. Ruth graduated from Mankato (MN) State Teachers College, and taught school in the Minneapolis suburb of Robbinsdale. While teaching there, she met her future husband, a student at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She married Dr. Harris E. Keel on August 25, 1951, and they had 58 wonderful years together.
Ruth enjoyed teaching in the Madison Public Schools for several years before starting her family. Her three sons, Greg, Bryce and Stuart brought her so much happiness.
Ruth was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Metropolitan Woman's Club, Daughters of the Nile, Madison Dental Auxiliary and Blackhawk Country Club. She was a loving mother and wife, and always felt she had been so blessed in life.
She leaves her sons Greg (Deb) of Minneapolis, Bryce (Marge), and Stuart (Judy), and grandson Matthew, all of Madison, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harris in 2009, and four brothers, John, Kent, Wayne and Jake. Memorials may be sent to Covenant Presbyterian Church or Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
