Ruth Alighieri

Sun Prairie- Ruth R. Alighieri, 71, of Sun Prairie, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, October 23, 2017. She fell victim to Alzheimer's, which progressed rapidly.

She was born on May 16, 1946, in Madison and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1964. Ruth worked for Bormann's Apparel for 20+ years then was a real estate agent for 20 years. Both careers were so rewarding to Ruth, she loved the interaction with all the wonderful people she worked for and with. Ruth was excellent at cooking, gardening and home improvement, along with many other talents where everything was done to perfection. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed spending time at her Clearwater Resort cottage on Lake Jordan, where she loved to boat with family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her children: Lisa (Mike) Buschkopf and Victor (Wendy) Alighieri; grandchildren Briana, Jamesen, Kaitlin, Serra, Audrie, Mason, Jesse and Ali; great-granddaughter Maddi; and sisters: Lila (Ron) Lowenberg, Trudy (Rich) Stark and Diane (Paul) Reisdorf. Also, many loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by Victor Alighieri, Sr.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00pm until 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.

Ruth was proud to be a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be dearly missed.
