Ruby Korth

August 29, 1923 — October 6, 2012

Ruby Mae Korth (nee Eide) age 89 died Saturday, October 6, 2012 due to complications with pneumonia. She was born on August 29, 1923 the daughter of the late Lawrence and Alma (Smithback) Eide. She was united in marriage to Milton Korth on October 5, 1940 in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Ruby was a life-long resident of Stoughton and attended First Lutheran Church. She was an office manager at Stoughton Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1988. Ruby had a love for music. She could play many instruments including accordion, keyboard and her most favorite, the piano. Ruby also enjoyed entertaining; she played in the Sammy Eggelsen Band and played for many community events.

She is survived by her son, Larry and daughter-in-law, Dotty of Marlette, MI; two sisters, Jerry Hommen of Deerfield, and Alice Rasey of Grand Haven, MI; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by long-time friend and companion, Ray Wolf.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington St. Stoughton with Pastor Jerome Pribbenow officiating. Family will greet friends at church one hour prior to service. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
