Rosemary Sharp

May 1, 1926 — March 2, 2018

Madison: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved,
Rosemary Chartier Sharp on March 2, at the age of 91. She was born on
May 1st 1926 in Detroit Michigan. She graduated from Michigan State
University in 1949 and worked for the City of Detroit as a social worker.
She married Harry "Bud" Sharp in 1951 and settled in Ann Arbor
Michigan for Bud to finish his Doctorate degree in Sociology and
Philosophy. Rosemary and Bud had 3 children; Gene in 1953, Janine in
1956, and Jeanmarie in 1966. The family moved to Madison, Wisconsin
in 1960 for Bud's new job as a Sociology Professor with tenure at UW
Madison.

Rosemary was a homemaker who enjoyed spending endless days in her
lavish rose garden, summering at the cabin, and, of course, loving
happy hour. She was also an exceptional seamstress, making beautiful
clothes and outstanding Halloween costumes over the years. However,
she was best known for her charismatic, energetic, fun loving,
firecracker personality--If you met her, you would never forget her!

Rosemary is survived by her children; Gene, Janine, and Jeanmarie, her
grandchildren: Michael Holmes, Jake Hernikl, Samantha Heeg
(Brandon), Margaret Radl, Mitchell Maier, and Sunnie Wiswell. Her
younger siblings: Donald (Maxine), Elizabeth Winter, and Raymond
(Pat).
