Rosemary Coluccy

Rosemary G. Coluccy, age 84 of Madison, WI, died at home on September 14, 2015 from Richter's Syndrome. Born in Hazel Green, WI on April 29, 1931. Preceded in death by her parents Marie and Lester Carns, niece Ellen Wienen and husband of 47 years, Gilbert. Rosemary is survived by sister Connie Muehleip (Huck), 8 children; Lynn (Wayne Barnes) of Denver CO, Roberta (Fred Hargons) of Bloomington MN, Jeanne of Madison WI, Laura Lundblad (Kurt) of Woodbury MN, Michael (Maggie) of Madison WI, Mary (Scott Beyer) of Montrose CO, John (Jacqui) of Manchester MI, Paula Beaumont (Tom) of Des Moines IA, 11 grandchildren; Sherron and Calen Bent, Ellie and Matt Lundblad, Joe and Nate Coluccy, Danielle and Jack Coluccy, Samuel, Henry and William Beaumont, 9 great-grand children, 5 nieces and nephews and many good friends. Rosemary moved to Madison in 1949 to study at the UW. She made a career in nursing while raising her family, working at Madison General Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and later in home health care. Although she had many varied interests, including studying Russian, traveling the world, and playing the clarinet, piano, and accordion, she was a gardener at heart. Rosemary tended her plants with loving care, paging through catalogs each winter, planning for the upcoming growing season. She also loved meeting her friends at SwimWest for water aerobics, followed by a trip to Panera Bread for a latte, oatmeal, and conversation. A special thanks to these wonderful people for welcoming her into their circle. She will be dearly missed by all, including her beloved animals, Zippy and Frankie. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cress Funeral 3610 Speedway Rd, Madison, WI 53705 on Thursday September 24, 2015 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of choice in her name.
