Ronald Savoy

McFarland - Ronald G. Savoy, age 74, of McFarland, passed away on Tuesday October 15, 2013 in his home. He was born in Winona, MN on April 15, 1939 to Alzier and Marie Savoy. Ron served in the Army and subsequently received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and his Masters of Science degree from Purdue University. He was a middle school science teacher in Madison WI for many years before he retired. In retirement, he enjoyed finding and selling antiques including his favorite, Red Wing pottery. Ron was an avid hunter and looked forward to deer hunting with his family every fall. Ron is survived by his son Jeffrey (Julia) Savoy of Madison, WI; daughter Susan (Tom) Meier of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren; and his twin brother Donald (Barbara) Savoy of Lodi, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Richard, James and Phillip.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and a memorial service at noon. Burial will be immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery, 2705 Regent Street, Madison, WI.
