Madison - Rollin W. Camp, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. He was born on July 8, 1919 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Sarah (Gorst) Camp. Rollie graduated from Reedsburg High in 1938. He attended U.W. Madison and started working at the 1st National Bank (US Bank).

Rollie was a member of the Reedsburg National Guard and enlisted in the army in 1940 with one year in the 32nd Division. He then joined the Army Air Corps for four years and became an instructor in bombsites and automatic pilots. Rollie saw service in Italy with the 15th Army Air Corps during WWII. He was awarded the European Theater Ribbon with 4 battle stars along with the American Defense Ribbon.

During the war, Rollie met the love of his life, Patricia (Angell) Dawson, in Denver while stationed at Lowrey Field. They met on a blind date and were married 3 weeks later on Valentine's Day in 1943. They celebrated 61 years together until her death in 2003.

In 1945 they moved back to Madison where Rollie went back to work with the bank. He earned a degree at Northwestern University and held a graduate certificate from American Institute of Banking.

Rollie loved sports including setting some records in bowling and tennis, but golf was his passion. During his life he made 2 hole-in-ones. He was a long time member of Blackhawk Country Club. He was also a big Packer and Badger fan.

Rollie retired as Vice President of Firstar Bank (US Bank) in 1978. He could then play golf and travel with Pat to their winter home in Florida. He always spent tax season helping seniors with their tax returns. Rollie and Pat loved playing bridge and had many wonderful friends in their bridge groups.

Rollie is survived by a son, David; daughter, Nancy (Glenn) Zolun; a special niece, Susan Campbell and family and best friend of the family and co-worker, Carol Genin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; daughter, Catherine Goetz; brothers, Russel, Clifford and Lyall and a sister, Juanita Koenig.

Rollie was a positive person who would light up the room with his presence, his joking nature and generosity. He was a member of Bethany Methodist Church. There will be a private family service with military honors at the mausoleum.

Thank you for your never ending love and support. You were the best Dad we could have had. We love you and you will always be a part of us.
