Roland Karls

DANE-Roland W. "Punk" Karls, age 87, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015. He was born on June 18, 1928, the son of Alois and Linda (Madigan) Karls. He served his country in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He was married to Lou Ann Kessenich on June 24, 1958. Punk lived and worked on the family farm from the age of 10 and loved everything about it.

Survivors include his wife, LouAnn; seven children, Ann(Steve)Plendl, Al (Bonnie), Jerry (Lori),Nancy (Gary) Endres, Mark (Kris), Joe (Roxanne), and Lynn (Torrey)Latham; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (Roger) Ripp and Toni (Jerry)Ripp. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Alois "Jim" and Gerald "Mike" and three sisters, Eva Schilling, Adell Meade and Rosie Helgerson.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at BLESSED TRINITY PARISH - ST. MICHAELS, Dane. Rev Chad Droessler will officiate. At Punk's request, a Celebration of his Life will be held following the Mass in the School Hall. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family will designate a Memorial at a later date.
