Roger Rasmussen

Madison: Roger David Rasmussen born March 14, 1949 to Warren and Elaine Rasmussen, passed away June 14, 2018. Roger grew up in Walworth, Wisconsin, graduating from Big Foot High School in 1967. Upon graduation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education in 1971, Roger taught 6th grade in the Madison Metropolitan School District until his retirement in 2004. Roger was married to Joan Fox with whom he was able to enjoy traveling, country rides and special occasions with family and friends.

Roger is survived by his five brothers and sisters, Richard (Nancy), Sally (Monte Keen), David (Sheila), Becky (Dan Kahsar), Janet, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joan Fox.

A gathering to celebrate the life of Roger will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. with a time of remembrance at 6 P.M. The gathering will be held at Delaney's Steakhouse, 449 Grand Canyon Dr., Madison, WI.

As a teacher who spent a lifetime encouraging literacy the family requests memorials be made to the Literacy Network, 701 Dane St., Madison, WI 53713 ( www.litnetwork.org ) or to the American Heart Association.
