Stoughton/Adams-Friendship- Roger W. Gunnelson, age 86, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Moundview Memorial in Adams-Friendship. He was born in Cambridge on December 12, 1928, the son of Lawrence and Edna (Strohbusch) Gunnelson. Roger grew up in Cambridge. On June 30, 1950 he married Dolores Behrens. Together they worked the family farm and enjoyed playing cards, roller-skating and bowling. Roger owned and operated Gunnelson Implement in Stoughton for 20 years. He was active in the Stoughton community and was a member of the Jaycees, Lions, and the Stoughton School Board. Roger was the founder and chairman of the Syttende Mai Canoe Race. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, bowling, and quality time with family and friends at the cabin. Roger was an avid WI sports fan. In his later years he spent much of his time in Florida, enjoying long drives, good food, and good conversation. Roger is survived by his son, Dan (Cindy) of Edgerton; daughter, Deb (Dick) Tschanz of Monroe; three grandchildren, Danyel (Erik) O'Connor, Darcie Gunnelson, and Toni (Aaron) White; five great grandchildren, Piper Dolores, Finley, Behren Roger, Joslin, and Odin; very special partner, Lois Colburn and her family; two brothers, Larry (Betty) and Jerry (Janet) Gunnelson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; many friends; and his dog, Tazy. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Dolores. A Celebration of Roger's life will be held from 3:30 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton.
