Bob Weber, age 82, died Thur, April 9, 2015 from complications of diabetes. He was born to Elisabeth and John Weber of Lodi, WI on May 25, 1932. Bob was destined to be an athlete and musician. He was a trombonist with the "Soon to be Famous" Lodi band, Also, he was an original member of the wonderful "All That Jazz" band. The band played in many places including the Overture Center and was well known in Chicago and the surrounding area. After graduating from Lodi High School, Bob went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. At 6'7" he excelled in basketball and in 1954 became the Captain of the U.W. basketball team. When Bob's well-known father, John Weber, died in 1978, Bob took over Weber's Bakery in Lodi and successfully carried on the traditions of a Swiss bakery. Bob had many talents and was well-known as an avid golfer. He generously taught golf at Lodi High School and also created a winning baseball team. Survivors include his son, David (Noel), Lodi, daughter, Jenny Weber of Washington, D.C. Grandchildren, Hannah and Amos Weber of Lodi, Hans Klopp, North Dakota, Fritz Klopp, Stevens Point and Liesel Klopp, Madison, WI and fianc�, Florence "Tinker" Halvorson. Other survivors include his sisters, Betty Barbian, Waunakee and Helen McDermid, Madison. He is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews.Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne Weber Klopp, his parents, Elisabeth and John Weber, sister Gertrude "Trudy" (Schooley) Rockwell and nephew Robert "Bob" Miller. Bob will long be remembered by Lodi residents and a host of friends. As a tribute to Bob, Lodi named him their "Man of the Year". He will be deeply missed for his devotion and contributions to help Lodi grow and prosper. Our family is grieving the loss of our loved one and will forever cling to fond memories of Bob. The world has lost a fine, loving man and will hold him close in our hearts. A celebration of Bob's life will be held in May. An announcement will be in the Lodi Enterprise at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made in Bob's name to the Reach out Lodi Inc. Community Center, which was very important to him. Please share a memory at
