MADISON-Robert F. (Bob) Wagner, Jr., age 87, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at his home in Madison. Bob was born on March 24, 1927, the son of Robert F., Sr., and Violet (Yenser) Wagner. A proud 1951 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Bob and his late wife Sylvia (UW class of 1952) returned to Madison after his retirement from his career as National Sales Manager for Alcan Aluminum. They unabashedly supported the Badgers in all athletic and artistic arenas. Following his high school graduation from Whitefish Bay High School, Bob served in the US Army, stationed on Okinawa. He was an avid skier and golfer and excelled at both. Bob knew the value of a dollar, and he always worked hard to support the efforts he valued most. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his stepchildren, Vicki (Howard) Mogil, Katy Smith, and David Pickell; and four grandchildren, Sean Hamann, Michael Smith, Justin (Ashley) Jean, and Zachary Jean. Visitation for family at Cress Funeral Home will be private. Bob's life will be celebrated in May at Nakoma Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to the University of Wisconsin Foundation or a charity that supports literacy education. ON WISCONSIN!
