Robert Sveom

Stoughton - Robert "Bob" E. Sveom, age 87, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Edgerton Care Center. He was born on September 1, 1926 in the Town of Dunkirk, WI, the son of Austin and Anna (Johnson) Sveom.

Robert was a life member of the Stoughton Community. In his early years he and his parent's worked a dairy farm and grew tobacco on Hwy 138 south. He retired from farming in 1989 and moved into town where he then worked at Lake City Church of Madison until his retirement in 2009. Robert was a member of Covenant Lutheran Church of Stoughton. Some of the things he enjoyed in life was his home, reading the daily paper and family gatherings.

He is survived by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister in-law Arnold (Marquerite) Sveom; and his beloved sister Dorothy Weissmann.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N Van Buren St. Stoughton, with Rev. Mark Petersen presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Friday. Robert will be laid to rest next to his parents and sister at Eastside Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made out to Covenant Lutheran Church, Edgerton Care Center, or Agrace HospiceCare Janesville.
