May 1, 1925 — February 12, 2015

Stoughton- Robert L. Simmermon, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Skaalen Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born in Louisville, Indiana on May 1, 1925, the son of Dewey and Pauline Simmermon. Bob grew up in Indiana and graduated from Raleigh High School. He served his country during WWII in the Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. Bob worked for Brunsell Lumber and Millwork for over 40 years. Bob is survived by his two children, David Simmermon of Madison, and Diane Simmermon of Poynette; brother, Phil (Patty) Simmermon of Indiana; Evelyn's daughters, Joan (Jim) Podolak of Boulder, CO and Jill (Jon Beachkofski) Kerttula of Charlottesville, VA; and 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, including those of Evelyn's late son Jack (Barb) Kerttula; and many extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Esther; second wife, Evelyn in 2009; and infant sister, Janet Lee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Skaalen Home Chapel, 400 N. Morris Street, Stoughton, with Rev. Jim Koza officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the services. Bob will be laid to rest next to Evelyn in Roselawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Saturday at Skaalen. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
