Robert N. Shepherd

Robert N. Shepherd, 86, of Sun Prairie, WI left this earth to be with the Lord on July 11, 2023.  He was born in Appleton, WI on January 31, 1937, to the late Ted and Edna (Yaeger) Shepherd.

Robert served in the US Army in the 1960’s receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1965.  He often enjoyed telling stories of his time spent in the Military.

After the Military, he worked many years as a produce manager before accepting a position at Neenah Foundry where he continued to work until his retirement.  He then relocated to Silver Cliff, WI where he resided for many years enjoying the outdoors.

Robert’s hobbies included puzzles, fishing and watching westerns with his dog, Benji.  He would never pass up a good game of cribbage.  Robert will be forever remembered for his creativity and his love of building log cabin bird feeders.  What started out as a woodworking project quickly gained popularity amongst the community.  He took pride in knowing he had bird feeders located in many states and also donated some to various charities.

Robert is survived by his seven children: Kris (Jeff) Mohr, of Menasha, Karen (George) Mayo of Sun Prairie, Rob Shepherd of Shawano, Allan (Jess) Shepherd of Oshkosh, Dave (Michelle) Shepherd of Chippewa Falls, Lynne (David) Marshall of Kaukauna, and MaryJo (Tou) Lee of Menasha.  He is also survived by one brother Don (Joan) Shepherd of Marinette, WI; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.  Robert will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon of 50 years; parents Ted and Edna (Yaeger) Shepherd; three brothers: Lawrence Yaeger, Norman Shepherd and Duane Shepherd; three sisters: Doris Fuerst, Arlene Grobe and Beverly Shepherd; and many other family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 26, 2023, at the Village Pub, 235 W. Main St.  in Winneconne, WI from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
