Robert M. Ross

Robert M. “Bob” Ross, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born on March 15, 1955 in Madison, the son of Malcolm Le Roy Ross and Norma Cowan-Ross-Szabo.  He was a 1973 graduate of Oregon High School in Oregon, WI.

Bob married Jane Spelbring Pierce Ross on 9-12-09 In Baraboo, Wi.  He was a welder and maintenance technician for most of his life.

He played football all through his high school years and enjoyed watching football whenever he could.

He was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast all of his life. He loved riding through the countryside and gathering with other riders. He was a proud member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG).

Bob was an avid photographer; even having some of his prints selected for local publications.

Having worked as a welder for Dairy Equipment and a maintenance supervisor for the Alexander Company, Bob loved fixing and creating things with his hands.

Bob is survived by his wife Jane Pierce-Ross; step-mother Sally Ross; bother Richard (Jodi) Ross; sister Carleen (Brian) Kowing; daughter Rebecca Zurbachen; step-children from a previous marriage: Greg (Cassy) Carney, Tim (Kim) Carney, Chris (Jess) Theisen; Stephanie Theisen; grandchildren: Jace and Kaelyn Carney, Reegan and Timmy Carney, Alice, Austin, Johnny, and Wesley Theisen, Kendra Theisen, Aisen Wiltzius, Christian Theisen-Clauer, and Trinket Pierce. 

Bob was preceded in death by his father Malcolm Ross; his mother Norma Cowan-Ross-Szabo; his step-father Robert Szabo; and his step-sons Jarrod Pierce and Dan Pierce.  Bob will now be reunited with his beloved dog, Samantha.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI 53590.

A proof of life headstone is placed at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sun Prairie. He requested that his ashes be spread in a place that was special to him.
