MARSHALL, WI —Robert “Bob” Kaalberg passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at his home. Bob was born on April 19, 1937 in West Liberty, Iowa to John and Marguerite (Sullivan) Kaalberg.

Bob played football in high school. His uncles took him to Iowa Hawkeye games in Iowa City. They would get knot-hole tickets for $1.00. Bob loved the game of football. One of his passions was to travel the world with Janet.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Verla; son John; parents; and sisters Patricia and Phyllis. He is survived by his significant life partner of 16 years, Janet Likwarz; three sons Wayne (Sally), Craig (Karen), and Kevin (Andrea); sisters Carolyn, Janice (Ken), and Linda (Jeff); brothers Jerry (Donna), Donald “Donnie” (Barb), and Richard “Dick” (Barb); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; Janet’s children Andy (Lisa) and Christin (Chris); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be from 12-4:00 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at The Solarium, 575 W. Madison St. Waterloo, WI 53594 with full military honors to take place at 2:00 PM. 

Bob’s family would like to thank the nurses at the VA Hospital in Madison, WI and Agrace nurses Melissa and Ashley for the special care and compassionate care they gave to Bob.
