Robert H. Hensen

October 31, 1940 – July 6, 2026

Dad was born on October 31,1940 to Herbert and Veronica (Laufenberg) Hensen. He attended Waunakee High School, worked on farms in the Dane area, and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He married Diane E. Hellenbrand on September 26,1961 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Waunakee. They were married for 62 years. He is survived by his children, Dean (Jill) Hensen, Carrie Sutton, Dale (Carlyn) Hensen; three granddaughters, Samantha (Adam) Lorenz, McKenzie (Andrew) Endsley, and Carly Sutton; and great-grandson’s Jack and Frank Lorenz; and great-granddaughter Eliza Endsley.

Bob truly loved being with his family. He was a pretty selfless guy; working very hard to provide for his family, making sure his kids got to enjoy family trips, water-skiing, and of course the blue Plymouth Fury for Carrie. He also loved spending time with his granddaughters; making ice cream cones for them and paying them to watch their spontaneous theatrical shows. He was blessed to spend time with Jack, Frank, and Eliza too, making sure Jack got his ice cream sandwich on every visit.

Bob served on St. John’s Building Maintenance council for several years and also enjoyed his time as a Meals on Wheels driver for the Senior Center of Waunakee.

The family would like to thank Home Again Assisted Living, Agrace, and their amazing staff!

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15,2026 at St. John’s Catholic Church 209 South St Waunakee. Friends may call the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
