Juneau- Robert E. Bothum, age 94, died on Thursday, May 21, 2015. He was born in Dane County on December 10, 1920, the son of Christ and Tilla Bothum. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during WWII. On July 25, 1943 he married Irene Moen. Robert worked at International Harvester for 45 years and retired in 1993. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #8 of Prairie du Chien. Robert was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing and bird watching. He is survived by five children, Bob, Kristen Phillips, Debra (Scott) Monk, Patricia (John) Grilli, and Rebecca (Don) Kretlow; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Tres) and Roger; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene; two sons-in-law, Robert Phillips and Dennis Faas; and siblings, Ray, Karen, Lorraine, Alfred, Thelma, and Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon at the Stoughton VFW following the burial. Visitation will be held from 11:30am until the time of services. Memorials may be made to the family.
