Benisch, Robert H.
Edgerton / Stoughton- Robert H. Benisch, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born in Marshall on July 28, 1929, a son of Walter & Florence (Weisensel) Benisch. On May 3, 1952, he was united in marriage to Mae Hermanson. Robert served his country in the Army, stationed in Germany. After the service, he and Mae farmed on Route 1 in Edgerton for many years, retiring in 1990. Robert was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cambridge. He enjoyed farming, his pigs, fixing old tractors and traveling out west. Robert is remembered as a very kind man who was always there to help others. He is survived by his wife, Mae; children, Judy (Don) Hotter of Colstrip, Montana, Bob (Nancy), Jane (Jerry Duesterbeck) Benisch, and Jim Benisch; grandchildren, Jesse, Ricky, Abby and Cassie; 2 great grandchildren, Jacey and Rose; and 4 brothers, Joe (JoAnn), Andy, Charlie and Cyril (Laurie). He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norbert. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 701 Water St., Cambridge, with Father Dave Timmerman officiating. The family will greet friends at church for one hour prior to the service. Special thanks to the staff of the 4th floor at St. Mary's Hospital, and to family and friends for their care.
