Robert Albertus

Prairie du Sac - Robert "Bob" J. Albertus, age 89 passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Lodi with his loving family by his side. He was born on July 23, 1925 to Dewey and Bernice Albertus in Prairie du Sac, WI. Bob was drafted to the United States Navy in 1942 and proudly served as a Navigator/Bombadiner in the "Helldiver" Aircraft serving abroad the carrier "USS Benington" in the South Pacific in 1943. In his early years, he enjoyed deer hunting every year and fishing when he could. He was an avid Packers and Badgers fan through all his years. In 1948, Bob married Beverly Stick of Madison. They were married 60 years until her death in 2008. For over 35 years, he worked for Pepsi Bottling Company in Madison until his retirement.

Bob is survived by his three children; Mark (Joan) Albertus of Ontario, CA, Colleen (Richard) Helgeson of Prairie du Sac and Carol (John) Williams of Madison, four grandchildren; Eric Albertus of Hesperia, CA, Stephanie (James) McGuire of Ball Head City, AZ, Cameron (Amanda) Tetzlaff of Sun Prairie and Cortney Tetzlaff of Stoughton, a sister; Maureen Hambert of Sweet Home, OR and his brother; Bill (Connie) Albertus of Garnerville, NY. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a two sisters; Sara (Jack) Eberhardt and Mary (Dean) Kyle and brother-in-law, Rene Humbert.
Funeral services will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:30 am with Reverend Charlie Brandt officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of services. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Highland Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:15pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Robert to Good Samaritan Nursing Home, 700 Clark Street, Lodi, WI 53555 or Home Health United Hospice, 1111 8th Street, Baraboo, WI 53913.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Lodi and Home Health United Hospice in Baraboo, for all the love and care given to Robert and our family.
