Rickey Hayes

McFarland- Rickey W. Hayes, age 68, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Madison on September 25, 1949, the son of Harold and Mary Hayes. Rickey graduated from Lafollette High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1969 until 1972 and was stationed on several submarines. Following his honorable discharge, Rickey worked for First Federal Bank for 30 years. On July 11, 1987 he married Aileen Zaemisch in Minocqua. After his retirement from the bank Rickey worked for the Madison Streets Division West for 10 years. He loved sports, gardening and taking care of his lawn up North, and most of all spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Rickey was a member of the McFarland American Legion Post 534 for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Aileen; children, Patrick (Katy), Seann (Dez) and Jennifer; grandchildren, Gerit, Emma and Caleb; many nieces and nephews; and cousins. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Caren; in-laws, Bob and Bea Zaemisch; brother-in-law, Terry; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of Rickey's life will be held from 12 noon until 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the McFarland American Legion Post 534, 4911 Burma Road, McFarland. A Pass in Review will start at 2:45pm with Full military honors to follow at 3:00 PM at the Legion. Rickey requests that everyone in attendance please wear sports apparel.
