Richard Wagner, 82, of Madison passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6th, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Madison on February 6, 1942 to Richard and Louise Wagner and remained an East Sider his entire life. He graduated from East High School in 1961 and went on to work for the Clack Corporation for 43 years until retirement.
In his younger years, Richard enjoyed traveling throughout the world and this travel sparked a love for photography that only grew with time.
He always managed to surround himself with the people and activities that he enjoyed the most. He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his time at Badger Stamp Club and the Milwaukee Street Coffee Club and rarely missed an opportunity to play Euchre at the Goodman Center with his friends.
In addition to those clubs, he was a jack of all trades that could fix almost anything. A history buff, a photographer, a stamp collector, a book worm and avid gardener with a fondness for dahlias.
As the weather turned cold, you could find him baking in the kitchen and getting ready to put together an elaborate Christmas village.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
