Richard Schwenn

December 15, 1945 — June 14, 2013

Richard B. Schwenn, age 67, of Madison passed away peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, Wisconsin on
June 14, 2013, after a courageous battle with esophageal/stomach cancer that was diagnosed in January of this year.

Rich was born on December 15, 1945, to Edwin Schwenn and Janet (Bartelt) Schwenn. He graduated from Middleton High
School with the Class of 1964 and remained life-long friends with many of his classmates. Many of his happiest times were
spent with the Middleton Gang both in and long after High School.
Rich served in the United States Marine Corps and was very proud of his service.

He started his working career in banking and then owned and operated Wisconsin Insurance Agency in Middleton, Wisconsin,
for many years. Most recently he worked as General Manager at Dairyland Packaging, retiring in March of this year.

Golf was one of Rich's greatest passions. He really enjoyed golfing and spending time with his golf buddies at Lake
Wisconsin Country Club. Rich always looked forward to playing whenever possible.

Rich is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Sue (Mueller) Schwenn; daughter, Heather Schwenn of Mountain View, CA;
mother, Janet Schwenn of Middleton, WI; brother Paul (Maureen) Schwenn of Madison, WI; brother-in-law Al Syens and
sister-in-law Sally Syens of Waunakee, WI; sister-in-law Sandi Walsh of Verona, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by his father Edwin Schwenn and sister Toni Schwenn.

Rich will be remembered fondly as a fun loving man with a great sense of humor. He loved his wife Sue, his friends and
family, golf, the Brewers, UW Basketball, and traveling to favorite spots in Mexico. He was a wonderful, kind and loving
husband. Rich will always be with us, but his daily humor will be missed by many.

Thank you to everyone who called, sent cards, visited and supported Rich during this journey. He and Sue really
appreciated it. Thank you to Dr. Mulkerin, the nurses and staff at the UW Carbone Cancer Center and to the Hospice
staff that helped care for Rich at home as well as after his move to Agrace. You are truly Angels on earth. Rich could
not have had better care.

Very special thank you to Dennis and Kathy Howard. The Howards have been life-long friends. Wonderful memories of
great times spent with Dennis and Kathy and their family will be cherished forever.

Honoring Rich's request, he will be cremated and there will not be a visitation or funeral. A celebration of Rich's life will
be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.cressfuneralservice.com .

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed,
so very dear." We will always love you, Richie!
