Richard Rounds

Madison - Richard W. "Dick" Rounds age 63 passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 11, 1951 in Madison, the son of Richard and Evelyn (Powell) Rounds. Dick met the love of his life, Joyce Lynn Babb in the United States Navy at NTCC Crystal Plaza, Washington, D.C. They then united in marriage on November 8, 1975. After Dick finished his enlistment in the United States Navy, they moved back to Wisconsin. For five years, Dick worked for GTE and then went to General Casualty Insurance for 28 years until his retirement in November of 2008. In his free time, Dick enjoyed golfing and played on the GC Golf League, computers and computer games. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His biggest and best joy was his family.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Joyce Lynn (Babb) Rounds of Madison; five daughters, Elizabeth (Paul) Gee, Heather Rounds all of Boise, Idaho, Marie (Teo) Delgado of Sun Prairie, Melissa (Gary) Nagel of Rice Lake and Kimberly (Seth) Ellsworth of Pocatello, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Amariel Lynn, Hannah Marie, Kaylynn Emyline, Sarah Annabelle, Noah Lynn, Emma Renee, Evangelyn Deaenera and Maddison Pennie; his mother, Evelyn Rounds of Westby; his sister, Kathy Manthe of Westby and two brothers, Tim (Lynn) Rounds of Waterloo and John Rounds of Westby. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Rounds.
Funeral services will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, 6651 Prairie View Drive, Sun Prairie on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 am with Bishop Jacob Hatch officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of services. Private burial with military honors will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Dick to the charity of your choice.
