Richard Lunde

MADISON-Richard "Dick" L. Lunde, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014. He was born on February 24, 1927 to Paul and Alma (Linn) Lunde. After graduating from West High School, Dick went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1945-46 where he was stationed on the USS Langley. He married Euthel "Georgia" M. Littrell on April 18, 1952.
After his military service, Dick worked as a painter until he began at ARCO Sinclair in McFarland. He then went on to work for the State of Wisconsin as an inspector until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and a good hand of cribbage. He and Georgia were both very active members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Dick is survived by his children Craig and Debra Carlisle; grandchildren Keith and Brent Lunde, Elizabeth (James) Sheldon, and Kelly Browne; great-grandchildren Ethan and Lila Grace; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife Georgia; siblings: Lucia Schmelzkopf, Helen Niemann, and Donald, Paul Jr., and Bill Lunde; and daughter-in-law Holly.
Dick was a very kind, generous, and loving person. He will be dearly missed by all those who had the honor of knowing and loving him.
A Funeral Service for Dick will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2670 Milwaukee St. in Madison with Pastor Bernt Tweit presiding. Visitation will be at the church 10-10:45 AM on Monday, December 29, 2014. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.
