Richard Brunsell

MADISON/EVANSVILLE - Richard L. (Dick) Brunsell, age 82 died November 4, 2013 at Grace Hospice
in Madison. He was born July 17, 1931 in Rock Cty. Wis., the son of Harley and Florence (Norum)
Brunsell. He was a graduate of Evansville High School. Dick was a Veteran of the Korean War at
which time he was injured. He attended Madison Business College where he met his wife Janice
(Marty). They were married September 30, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Dick work as an accountant for the State of Wisconsin and for Brunsell Lumber Co., Madison until
his retirement.
Dick and Janice enjoyed traveling together. They visited South America, Australia, Canada's
Northwest Territory, New Zealand, Kenya and much of the United States, especially enjoying time
with Janice's Brother, Norman Marty in Florida.
Dick and Janice were faithful, long time members of Good Shepherd Lutheran church.
Dick was a faithful volunteer for many years at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Madison. He
was also a good friend and loving brother and caring husband.
Dick is survived by brothers and sisters, Betty Graham of Pewaukee, Dorothy (Clarance)
Taplin of Plain, Elwyn (Leslie) Brunsell of Janesville, Jean Hackman of Davenport, Florida, Judy
(Bud) Hatlevig of Friendship and David (Sharon) Brunsell of Mason, Michigan. He was preceded
in death by his parents, his sister Joan Brunsell, brother Gerald Brunsell, and sister Luanne Townsend,
brother-in-law Bruce Townsend, Robert Graham, Ronald Stillman, and Bob Hackman, sister-in-law
Joanne Brunsell. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by Janice's nieces and nephews, Patricia Manthey of Plymouth, Vicki Meyer of
Belleville, Kenneth (Jeannie) Erickson of Monroe, Donald (Jean) Erickson of Colorado Springs,
Colorado, and Ronald (Rose) Erickson of New Glarus, and preceded in death by Don Meyer.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11 am at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN
CHURCH, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison, WI 53711. A visitation will be held prior to service beginning
at 10 a.m.
