Richard Arthur Aurit

July 12, 1951 — October 8, 2010

Richard A. Aurit, age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 8, 2010 at UW Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. 
Richard was born on July 12, 1951 to Robert and Berniece (Eustice) Aurit in Hazel Green, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Sharon Arneson on February 26, 1972. Richard served on the Dodgeville School Board for many years. Richard enjoyed camping, hunting and cooking for family gatherings. Richard greatly enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren by taking them on walks, to the parks, camping and staying in hotels with water slides.  Richard will be remembered for his hearty laugh and holiday dinners.  
Richard is survived by his wife Sharon; three children: Jennifer (Dan) Miller, Mark (Carrie) Aurit and Jeremy(Don) Aurit- Backman; three grandchildren: Makayla, Derek and Rachel Miller; mother,  Berniece Aurit;  siblings: Jim Aurit, Mary (Jerry) Fletcher,  Bill (Marge) Aurit, Anna (Tom) Radtke, Tony (Lou Ann) Aurit, Ray (Marilyn Dunn) Aurit,  Peter (Ellen) Aurit, Pauline (Donald) Ley,  Diane (Joe) Thomas, Charles (Sally) Aurit, Henry (Terry) Aurit, Margaret (Pat) O'Malley, Carol (Gary) Steffes; sister-in-laws: Diane Cushman, Audrey Meyers, and Sandra (Jerry) Ramsden; and brother-in-law, Scott Arneson.  He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Robert, brother in laws Alan James, Arnold Meyers and Robert Cushman. 
Richard made his final arrangements and his wishes will be honored with a private celebration of life on October 16, 2010 with immediate family.
