Reva Elaine Schuetz, age 85, was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. She was born on February 13, 1929 in Madison; the daughter of Milton and Lillian (Dunn) Hustad. She married the love of her life Leslie Schuetz on October 24, 1946 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, and embarked on a wonderful adventure. Lifelong residents of McFarland - together with their 6 children - they ran Schuetz's Apple Orchard. An avid nature lover, Reva was a skilled orchardist, with a keen eye for birding and observing the many native animal visitors. A natural teacher, she was adored by countless McFarland school children who made annual field trips to learn about workings of the orchard.
Reva enjoyed sunsets, campfires, and s'mores with her beloved family and friends at their lake cottage. She loved watching the children and adults in their various games, swimming activities and enjoyment of simply being together. She had a zest for life; embracing simple pleasures - traveling the country visiting national parks, communing with nature, fishing, sitting in a turkey blind with Les and her boys and being chief cook during the annual deer hunt. Reva was a kind, gentle woman who will be most remembered for her selfless ways and heart of gold. If you knew her, you couldn't help but love her.
Doting on her six children, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren was the central focus and passion of her life. She is survived by her husband, Leslie and children: Gary (Barb), Kathleen (Barry), Mike (Ann), Dennis (Patti), Steve (Cindee), and Jeff (Barb). Grandchildren: Gina, Andy, Jason, Sarah, Bryan, and Kevin.
