Sun Prairie/ Stoughton - Rev. Hilbert (Bert) Earl Lohr, age 82 passed away peacefully at Agrace Hospice Care on Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was born April 13, 1935 in Hartford, WI to Earl and Viola (Dallman) Lohr. He moved with his family to Juneau, WI, where he attended school and graduated from Juneau High School. He graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL and also from Evangelical Theological Seminary, also in Naperville. He was ordained into the ministry of the Evangelical United Brethren church in 1961. He served congregations in Wauzeka, Eastman, Milwaukee, Janesville, Sun Prairie, Platteville, and Evansville. He retired in 1999 and has been active since in the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church.
He was united in marriage to Jeanine Ann Juedes on July 22, 1960 in Madison at First EUB. Together they raised three children.
He enjoyed woodworking, golf, Packers, Badgers, sailing, camping, Door County, and spending time with his grandchildren. He has served in a variety of community and school involvements, along with youth and camping ministries in his ministry. At various times he was a member of Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions Clubs.
He was survived by his wife Jeanine, of 57 years; children Debra (Richard) Mulhern; Mark (Debborah) Lohr; Brian (Virginia) Lohr; grandchildren Jacob, Connor, Jack Mulhern; Christopher, Davis, and Erica Lohr; Jaimie, Alyssa, and Kaitlyn Lohr; sister Marilyn Albright.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Karen King.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, 702 North Street, Sun Prairie, WI . A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie WI
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sun Prairie United Methodist Church.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Agrace Hospice and St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate care.
He was an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He has helped many people over the years grow in their faith and make the journey to heaven and now he has joined them.
