Deerfield- Edwin "Red" Frank, age 82, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Ft. Atkinson on May 14, 1930, the son of Walter and Frances (Foat) Frank. Red enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country from 1950-1952. On May 7, 1960 he married Virginia "Ginny" Skram. Red was a welder by trade, working at Wisconsin Foundry and then Stoughton Trailers until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing euchre and horseshoes, and made friends with everyone he met. Red was the most loving, generous, compassionate, forgiving, witty and funny man. He always had a hug for the girls and ended every conversation with "I love you more." If you asked Red how he was doing his reply was "finer that frogs hair." He was an avid Packers and NASCAR fan. Red loved his family very much. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Ginny; two daughters, Karen (Curt) George and Linda Udelhoven; foster daughter, Joan Boley; five grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy), Matthew, Emily, Roxanne and Denise; six great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jacey, Lynzie, Korbyn, Desiree and Will; many relatives; and dear friends. Red was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Melvin, Virgil and Ralph; and step brother, Raymond Nelson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home in Deerfield. Burial, with Military honors, will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday. A special thank you to the staff of St. Jude Hospice, especially Wendy, for all of their loving care.
