Raymond Becker

WAUNAKEE-Raymond Gale "Ray" Becker, age 88, died on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at his home in Waunakee following a short illness. He was born in Osage, Iowa on Aug. 30, 1927, to Herman and Lelah (Coffman) Becker. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Frontier from 1945 to 1949. He married Nancy Blake on April 27, 1957, and they lived all of their married life in Waunakee. He worked for short time at Oscar Mayer and owned his own electrical business for a number of years. He served as a 4H leader and was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waunakee.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Cindy; two sons, Lindley Becker and Craig (Timothy Becker-Solic); two grandchildren, Jonathan (Dannah) Sauer and Rachel Sauer; and a sister, Betty A. Becker. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Howard (Marie) Becker.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee. A private graveside service will be held.

Ray was the ultimate family man to his wife, children and grandchildren.
