Raphael Osakwe

MADISON - Dr. Ike Raphael Osakwe, age 75, passed away on December 30th, 2014. He was born in Ifite Awkuzu, Anambra State, Nigeria on December 30, 1939. He attended St. Raphael primary school in Awkuzu. He later attended Christ the King College Onitsha and the Science Emergency Institute in Lagos. He received his V.A. Doctorate in the Czech Republic. He was then accepted into the veterinary research program at the U.W. Madison.
He was a valued member of the community and believed that with education and hard work you can achieve any goal. He was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his spouse, Angelina Osakwe, his sons: Ifeanyi Osakwe, Emencheta Osakwe, Anidebe Osakwe, and his daughters: Mmatagu Osakwe, Nwakego Osakwe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish at the St. James Church, 1128 St. James Ct., Madison.
