Obituary

Rano Israilova, 89, of Middleton, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Badger Prairie Health Care Center in Verona, WI. 

Rano was born on September 27, 1936 to Adham and Karima Askarova in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Rano is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Amir and Iskander, and her husband Maral Israilov. 

She is survived by her two daughters Malika and Lola, her sister Gulya, her brother Zakir, her nephew Timur, her niece Nigora, her son-in-law Andrew Parker, her granddaughter Victoria, and multiple other family members. 

Rano graduated from the Тashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in 1962 and worked as an engineer in Uzbekistan. On August 8, 1965, she married Maral. In 1970, Rano and her husband moved to Havana, Cuba, and in 1972 they moved back to Uzbekistan. 

In 2008, Rano visited the U.S. for the first time to meet her granddaughter; since then, Rano traveled back and forth between Uzbekistan and the U.S., helping to raise her granddaughter. She enjoyed cooking, baking, meeting with her friends, listening to music, watching dance, and spending time with family. Rano loved talking to people and was able to speak in Russian, Uzbek, Kazakh, Tatar, and Spanish. 

Rano was buried at Solas Natural Burial Preserve in Waunakee, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
