Randall (Randy) Andersen, 66, of Madison, WI, passed away on July 19, 2026, doing what he loved, biking on a summer morning. Randy was a husband, father, and friend who loved adventuring in the north woods. He was an avid biker, birder, golfer, and skier (cross country, downhill, and water). He wasn’t one for spectator sports, instead he wanted to participate in the action.

Randy was born on June 17, 1960 in Fort Benning, GA, to parents John and Jackie Andersen. He graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1978 before attending UW Madison for his BS in 1981 and MBA in 1984. He later completed his JD at Wake Forest University in 1985.

He spent the majority of his professional career as an attorney at Kay & Andersen. Recently, he merged his law practice with the Turke & Steil law firm. He helped many people navigate the intricacies of life.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy Andersen and his two sons Brett Andersen (Ana Andersen), Eric Andersen (Ally Andersen) and siblings Marty Andersen (Amy Andersen), Jim Andersen and Julie Kant (Greg Kant).

Join us in celebrating Randy’s life on Friday, July 24, 2026. There will be a visitation from 3-6 p.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI.

Following his death, Randy gave the gift of life. The Andersen family would like to extend their appreciation to the care teams at UW Hospital Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit and the UW Organ & Tissue Donation.
