Randall Levenhagen

Randall (Randy) Levenhagen, 65, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, died on February 11, 2011 with his family at his side at HospiceCare, Inc. after a brief but aggressive battle with lung cancer. Randall Gregory Levenhagen was born on May 10, 1945 to Roger and Mary Ellen (Dewane) Levenhagen in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He was the oldest of five children - all boys. Randy grew up in Denmark, Wisconsin where he and his family lived above his parents' bakery.  After graduating from Denmark High School in 1963, Randy attended baking school at Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Following graduation, Randy served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.  Upon returning from service, Randy returned to Denmark, where he met his wife Carol (Kozlovsky) Levenhagen, who worked at his parents' bakery.  On September 11, 1971 Randy and Carol were married at Holy Trinity, Pine Grove, Wisconsin, and together grew their family to include three sons.  After working briefly in the baking industry, Randy transitioned to a career in transportation/logistics which took him and his family to Texas, Illinois and Wisconsin. He retired in 2009. Randy was an amazing husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Randy was also passionate for Wisconsin sports, including the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers. Following his recent retirement, Randy enjoyed volunteering his time with HospiceCare, Inc. Randy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol; three sons, Jeff and Jenny (Scheel) Levenhagen, Woodbury, MN, Scott and Michelle (Butler) Levenhagen, Potomac Falls, VA, and Jonathan and Tricia (Drogue) Levenhagen, Sun Prairie, WI; nine grandchildren, Mallory (11), Brett (8), Nolan (8), Brianna (7), Owen (6), Brooke (5) Norah (5), Iris (2) and Courtney (2); three brothers, Tim (Sharon) Levenhagen, Appleton, WI,  Mark Levenhagen, Denmark, WI and Pat Levenhagen, Green Bay, WI and sister-in-law, Joyce Levenhagen, Neenah, WI. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Levenhagen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church  2420 St. Albert Drive where friends may call from 9:00 am until time of Mass.  Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery.  Father  Wm. G. O'Brien, a friend of the family, will preside. Randy's family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to HospiceCare, Inc., 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg WI.
