Ralph E. Michaelis

Ralph E. Michaelis, age 93, passed away at Willow Pointe Memory Care in Stoughton on Monday, November 16, 2009.   He was born in Oakland, WI on October 28, 1916, a son of Ellwood and Elsie (Barfknecht) Michaelis.   Ralph was united in marriage to Gertrude Weihert on November 10, 1943.   He worked at Oscar Mayer for many years in addition to farming in Pleasant Springs.   Ralph was a good father, and enjoyed spending time outdoors.   He is survived by 3 sons, Rodney (Ollie), Gary (Marilyn) and Timothy Michaelis; and 4 grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon, Shelly and Jennifer.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude, in 2000.   Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 2633 Church Rd., Pleasant Springs with the Rev. Thomas Heyn officiating.   Burial will follow at the church cemetery.   The family will greet friends at church on Thursday from noon until the time of service.
