Oregon- Raife Aries Melloch, age 44, passed away on Wednesday, February 05, 2014 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on December 27, 1969 in Chicago, IL to the parents of Marc and Jean (Jarvi) Melloch.
In 1976, he moved to Floodwood, MN where he grew up and attended Lincoln Elementary and High School.
As a child, Raife became an avid fan of rock music, a passion he carried to his dying day. It was during his early and formative years that he also began to display a marked artistic flair, and with patience and dedication, he developed it into an immense talent.
This ultimately led to his attending Madison Area Technical College in Madison, WI. He began in 2010 where his grades earned him honors every semester and he was on track to obtain a degree in Graphic Design in December 2014.
Raife was employed at Amcor in Madison, WI since the summer of 2013 and he previously worked at Sub-Zero for several years.
He served honorably in the United States Army and the Reserve and was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. from 2004 until 2005.
To the end, Raife was a devoted father who displayed a relentless drive to do what he thought best for his children. He was a passionate son, an influential older brother, and a faithful companion.
Raife is survived by his mother Jean Melloch of Floodwood, MN; father Marc Melloch; sons Kaide Melloch of Madison, WI and Keigan Melloch of Bruce, WI; daughter Kierston Melloch of Bruce, WI; ex-wife Heather Holman of Bruce, WI; brothers Tyson Melloch of Madison, WI and Brennan (Melinda Felknor) Melloch of Floodwood, MN; paternal Grandmother June Mallinson of Eldorado Springs, MO; niece Lila Melloch of Floodwood, MN; the love of his life Maggie Sanna of Madison, WI; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ralph and Virginia Jarvi; his paternal grandfather William Melloch; and his uncles Vaughn and Craig Jarvi.
A private celebration of his life will be held at Cress Funeral Home in Sun Prairie. An additional gathering will be held at a later date for family and friends in Floodwood, Minnesota.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all who have offered condolences, prayers, and assistance during this difficult time.
