Radha Sijapati

Radha Sijapati, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and an esteemed member of the community, passed away on February 7th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nepal, Radha married Krishna Sijapati in 1977 and embarked on a new journey to the United States, following in her husband's pursuit of further education. Radha and Krishna were married for nearly 47 years, bound together by their love of their family and devotion to Hinduism.

 A lover of education, Radha received numerous degrees, including her MBA. She dedicated 32 years of her career to the business world before retiring in 2012. Her retirement signified a new opportunity to serve her community and contribute to society. With a strong passion for education and a heart full of love for children, Radha returned to work as a bilingual specialist within the Madison Metropolitan School District, where she remained until her passing. In this role, she championed the academic success of ESL and disadvantaged students. Her influence spread across six schools across the Madison area, leaving a lasting impact on countless students, teachers, and other faculty members.

As the cornerstone of a sprawling, vibrant family, Radha’s legacy is carried on by her three daughters, two sons, and five grandchildren who reside across the country. She also leaves behind a legacy of love with her two sisters and three brothers, along with many nephews and nieces. Radha's life embodied the essence of love and compassion, the importance of education, and the impact of community service. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join in a service to celebrate Radha's life at the Cress Center, 6021 University Avenue, Madison, WI 53705, on Sunday February 11th, at 4 p.m.
