Rachel Jacobs

Rachel Jacobs (nee Saban) died on May 28, 2013 at Attic Angels Place in Madison at the age of 86. She was born in Lodz, Poland and came to the United States in 1949, the same year she married her husband of 64 years, Sam Jacobs. Rachel is survived by her husband, her sons Harvey Jacobs (Susan) of Madison, Bernie Jacobs (Suzanne) of Brooklyn, New York, her grandchildren Adam Jacobs (Amy Lang) of Toronto, Canada and Sarah Jacobs of Los Angeles, California., and her great-granddaughter, seven month old Ruby of Toronto. She is preceded by Frances, her deeply beloved sister, and Frances's husband Jack. She was much beloved by all who knew her for her good humor and high spirits, as well as the blankets and sweaters she knitted for her whole family, which endure to this day and which all treasure. Rachel enjoyed laughter, friends and family and was never happier than when surrounded by her children and their families, and her nieces and nephews and their families.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday June 2, 2013 at Beit Olamin Jewish Cemetery located at Sunset Memory Gardens, 7302 Mineral Point Rd., Madison, WI. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Social Services of Madison or Agrace HospiceCare of Madison.
