Pierre Seguin

May 31, 1960 — January 6, 2025

Madison

Our dear son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend, Pierre, left us on January 6, 2025 with sweet memories of his kind heart and gentle ways. Pierre was born May 31, 1960 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI to Barbara Rehmann Seguin and Charles Pierre Seguin.

He attended Beloit schools and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School. Pierre earned an Associate Degree in Electronics from Madison College and was employed as a technician with Gordon Flesch Company in Madison for 21 years.

Pierre was the third son in a family of six loving siblings and their spouses, Paul (Donna Carpenter), Ben (Chris Seguin), Clare (Pete Anderson), John (Kira Seguin) and Marie (Tim Sullivan), his nurturing and beautiful mother, his caring and supportive step-father, Dennis J. Murphy, as well as twelve wonderful nieces and nephews. All of these family members survive him and he was preceded in death by his father and niece Lisa Shoshany Anderson.

Pierre's extended family is the strong community of friends he valued while living and working in his beloved east side of Madison for 30+ years. Whether he was lunching, watching sports, playing trivia or chatting about current events, the staff and friends at The Ideal, Mickey’s and The Atwood provided an immeasurable amount of fun, familiarity and belonging. Thank you all so much for loving him up and recognizing his wry, sly sense of humor and his knowledge. It would be remiss not to mention his love of animals and nature. He had many fur friends and notably his canine pals, Louie and Wendell, will miss his affection.

Pierre attended local music festivals religiously every season; this was his favorite activity along with early mornings with coffee and the newspaper, watching classic monster movies, riding his bike and walking around the neighborhood, listening to WORT programs; a stand out being Tropical Riddims, and keeping up with the local sports teams. Pierre never FaceBooked, YouTubed or Insta'ed, preferring to keep up in person and learn by doing. He was old school through and through, good at tinkering and learning new tech by know-how and manuals. Pierre was a mellow, old soul who took it slowly in a world always in a hurry.

The family extends deep gratitude to the UW Carbone Cancer Center and the UW Cardiac Intensive Care units for treating Pierre with the dignity and stellar care that all patients deserve.

If so inclined, please consider a donation to a local shelter or food bank as Pierre cared deeply about those experiencing housing and food insecurity. Please support those who support healthcare initiatives focused on healthcare for all, such as Badger Care.

A Celebration of Life will take place on January 18, 2025 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Ave. Madison, WI 53704 with visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 and service to follow.
